BOGRA: In an overnight drive on Thursday (May 12), police arrested 16 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir, from five upazilas of the district.

Of the arrestees, four Shibir men were from Nandigram, three Jamaat men from Sherpur, four Jamaat men from Kahalu, one Jamaat leader from Adamdighi and four Jamaat men from Dupchanchia upazilas.

The arrestees were accused in vandalism, sabotage and arson attack cases in the district.

Assistant super of police (media) Gaziur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
