DHAKA: The ruling Awami League has deferred to October 22 and 23 its 20th triennial national council due to inclement weather and Eid-ul Azha.

The decision came from a meeting of AL executive committee, led by Prime minister Sheikh Hasina at her official resident at Ganabhaban in city on Saturday (June 11).

An AL leader who attended the meeting confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The date of the council has so far been postponed twice. The previous one was scheduled to be held on July 10 and 11.
