DHAKA: Law enforcers have arrested 48 alleged militants among the total 2,132 arrestees in the countrywide crackdown for the second day.
Police headquarters public relations officer AKM Qamrul Ahsan confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday noon (June 12).
Among the arrestees, 1,496 people have arrest warrant against them and 588 are regular accused.
The 391 arrestees among the regular accused are facing drug cases and other 41 are accused in arm cases.
Earlier on Saturday, 27 members of banned militant outfits of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), seven from Jagrata Muslim Janata, and three from other organizations were arrested, he added.
A total of 3,155 people also arrested on the first day of special drive which was conducing to prevent terrorism.
