RAJSHAHI: Law enforcers detained 44 people including Jamaat-Shibir activists conducting drives in the city.

They were nabbed after conducting drive from Saturday night to Sunday morning (August 7).

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesman Rajpara zone Assistant Commissioner (AC) Ifte Khair Alam confirmed the matter.

He added that 41 people were arrested from different areas after conducting the operation. Among them there were some arrest warranted accused and drug dealers.

At that time, 68 pieces of Yaba tablets, 10 liters of brew alcohol, five grams of heroin and 50 grams of cannabis were seized, said the police official.

The detainees were sent to the jail by the court this noon, AC said.
