RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) detained 38 men including four Jamaat-e-Islami men from different areas of the district.
The law enforcers of Boalia, Rajpara, Motihar and Shah Makhdum thanas and DB police conducted the joint drives from Wednesday night (August 31) to early Thursday (September 1).
RMP spokesperson and also senior assistant commissioner of Rajpara zone Iftekhar Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Four Jamaat activists included Rajshahi metropolitan unit Jamaat ameer Dr. Abul Hashem (65), hailing from Mirzapur’s Paschimpara area; activists Raihanul Islam, (50) and Botiuzzaman (45) from Shampur Nutunpara area and Parvez Ali (23) from Bakhrabaz area, he added.
Among the detainees, 19 were facing arrest warrants while 15 other were drug addicted and accused in several cases.
