BRAHMANBARIA: Police arrested district unit secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami from Medda Sabujbagh area in Sadar upazila of the district Thursday afternoon (September 22).

Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mainur Rahman said that the Jamaat man Kazi Yakub Ali, 55, was arrested from his residence.

Eight cases including of hartal violence were filed against him who remained fugitive for a long, he added.

Acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers conducted the drive in the area and arrested him in the afternoon.
