DHAKA: BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia have congratulated new US President Donald Trump for his historic victory in the presidential election.

Khaleda Zia’s press-wing official Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Wednesday (November 9).

Khaleda Zia said in a complementary message, “On behalf of BNP, I am congratulating Donald Trump and his Republican Party for being elected by people’s direct vote.”

This triumph will make the American democracy stronger and fulfill people’s aspiration. At the same time this victory will pave the way for practicing democracy in other countries of the world.
