SYLHET: At least 25 leaders and activists of Communist party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) including president Mujahidul Islam Selim and Khalekuzzaman were injured as Chhatra League activists attacked a rally in Sylhet.

The incident took place in court point area in the town at CPB rally on Sunday afternoon.

On information police rushed to the spot and dispersed Chhata League men by firing rubber bullets.

Bangladesh Chhatra Union Sylhet unit general secretary Shahiduzzaman Paplu confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Protesting the incident, CPB district unit called half-day hartal for Monday in the town.
