Abui Jahir, lawmaker from Habiganj-3 constituency, has tested positive for coronavirus.

Jahir, also president of district unit Awami League, himself confirmed the matter to Banglanews over phone on Tuesday morning.

He said he submitted his sample for a COVID-19 test on Sunday and the results came back positive today.

Currently the MP is in isolation at his residence. 

He also appealed to countrymen to pray for his speedy recovery from the deadly virus.
