GAZIPUR: A fierce clash between Awami League and BNP took place in Sripur municipality centering rally at Muktamanchha on Friday afternoon.

Sources said that supporters of local BNP and Awami League locked into clash at 3:30pm centering holding rally at same time and venue at Mukta Mancha.

On information, police rushed there and opened fire to bring the situation under control.

Police sources said additional police, BGB personnel were deployed in the area to bring the situation under control.

All shops and business institutions were kept shut during the clash.
