Selina Hayat Ivy on Wednesday (Feb 9) took an oath as the mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) for the next five years.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath to Ivy at a ceremony held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium joining virtually from her official Ganabhaban residence in the capital.

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam administered the oath to newly elected 27 councilors and nine reserved seat councilors of Narayanganj city.

On January 16, Awami League candidate Selina Hayat Ivy was elected mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation for the third consecutive term beating her nearest rival Taimur Alam Khondker by 66,535 votes in the election.
