Prothom Alo journalist Samsuzzaman Shams walked out of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj today (April 3) evening.

Mahbubul Islam, jailer of Dhaka Central Jail confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said: "We released him upon receiving the bail order. He walked out of jail at 6:22pm."

Earlier around 3:00pm, a Dhaka court granted him bail until submission of the police report in a case filed under the Digital Security Act with Ramna Police Station.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Asaduzzaman Noor passed the order.

Journalist Shamsuzzaman Shams has been granted bail upon a bond of Tk 20,000.
