Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday (May 15) said there is no reason to worry about the country's forex reserves.
The Prime Minister made the remark in a press conference at Ganabhaban this afternoon while briefing on her recent tri-nation tour.
The prime minister said the dollar crisis in the country will end, adding Bangladesh today has 31.22 billion in reserves. In 2006, it was less than a billion. So there is no reason to worry about reserves.
"Our country has enough reserves to cover three months of import expenses. For this reason, the government does not see the reduction in reserves as a cause for concern," she added.
The premier said sanctions and counter-sanctions due to inflation have raised all over the world recently. Transportation costs have increased. That is why the dollar crisis climbing high.
Senior members of the cabinet and top leaders of Awami League, and journalists were present at the press conference.
