CHITTAGONG: A top terror and robber was killed in a gunfight between Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members and his cohorts in city’s Dhumkhali Beribadh area under Mirsorai Thana on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Akteruzzaman Khushbu, top-listed terror and local robber. He was wanted in 19 cases, including murder and robbery, said RAB.

RAB-7 staff officer ASP Mustafizur Rahamn told banglanews, “Acting on a tip-off that the robbers were holding a meeting in order to conduct robbery in Dhumkhali Beribadh area, RAB team raided the area at about 1pm.”
“As the elite-force reached near the ground, the terrorists opened fire on them, forcing RAB members to fire back. At that stage, the robbers retreated,” the officer said.

Later RAB-7 recovered the bullet-riddled body of KHushbu from the scene.
