Interim govt to hold polls soon after key reforms: Law Adviser

Law Adviser to the interim government Dr. Asif Nazrul said his administration aims to hold elections as soon as possible after implementing a few necessary reforms.

He made the remarks during a press conference titled "100 Days of the Interim Government: Law Ministry's Accountability," held at the Law Ministry’s conference room at noon on Tuesday (Nov 19).

"We want to hold elections promptly after some urgent reforms. We do not want a repeat of fake elections like before, nor do we want any winner to gain from such unfair practices. We have no other interest," Asif Nazrul said.

He added that most members of the interim government are eager to return to their professions as early as possible.

When asked about the government's tenure being extended to four years, he said, "There has been no mention of such a timeline."
