Indefinite transport strike called off in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA: Transport owners and workers of the district called off indefinite strike on all inter-district routes Monday on assurance of fulfilling their demands.

District Transport Owners’ and Workers’ Oikya Parishad took the decision after a fruitful meeting with Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Bholanath Dey Monday morning at the latter’s office.

Among others, Police Super Nazrul Islam and General Secretary of Bus-Minibus Owners’ Association Abul Kalam attended the meeting.
 
General Secretary of Bus-Minibus Owners’ Association said banglanews24.com.bd “The district administration assured us of meeting the demands of the Parishad in the meeting.”

Parishad leader Nasir Joardar said the transport owners were incurring huge loss due to the unauthorized plying of three-wheelers on main nine routes.

Earlier Transport owners and workers enforced the indefinite strike on all inter-district routes on Sunday evening demanding ban on illegal plying of three-wheelers on the main routes.
