Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjad Ali has identified traffic congestion as one of the biggest problems in the capital, saying that when one road is blocked, the entire city suffers.
He urged all organizations to stop blocking roads for protests and demands, emphasizing that such practices must end.
He made these remarks on Wednesday (February 12), while addressing DMP officials at the monthly crime review meeting for January, held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh.
The DMP Commissioner highlighted the ongoing "Operation Devil Hunt," launched to bring criminals under the law. This includes those involved in enforced disappearances, robbery, extortion, and killings during last year’s student protests.
In the meeting he instructed law enforcement officers to maintain professionalism and dedication in ensuring security across the city.
