The joint forces have arrested 585 more individuals suspected of attempting to destabilize the country, as part of the ongoing nationwide crackdown, ‘Operation Devil Hunt.’
According to the police headquarters, a total of 1,493 people were apprehended in the last 24 hours till Sunday noon — 908 on previous cases and warrants, and 585 linked to recent unrest.
Since the operation began on February 8, following a terror attack on student protesters in Gazipur, 8,664 individuals have been arrested nationwide.
In the last 24 hours, law enforcement also seized a locally made pistol, an LG, a magazine, 10 rounds of bullets, three cartridges, and six machetes.
