1 killed in BGB-AL clash in B’baria

BRAHMANBARIA: An Awami league activist was killed in a clash with Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) men at Akhaura upazila in the district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Hadis Mia, 30, son of Aftab Miah, hailed from Taraganj of the upazila.

Lieutenant Colonel Ershadul Haque, Commander of BGB-12 told banglanews that some Awami League activists locked into a clash  during the fourth phase of upazila polls while snatching ballot boxes at Taraganj Government Primary School.

BGB men opened fire to control the situation that left Hadis Mia injured critically.

Hadis was rushed to Akhaura Upazila Health Complex and later he was transferred to the Sadar Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.
