DHAKA: President M Abdul Hamid, also Chancellor of Dhaka University, on Monday urged the students to relate intellectuality and creativity with the education.
“There should be no education merely for getting certificates and passing through cramming rather education should relate intellectuality and creativity with the education,” he said.
The President came up with the observation while addressing the 48th Convocation of Dhaka University in the noon.
Abdul Hamid said, “We don’t want any education merely for certificates rather we want creative and proper education. There should link of joy with education and we should shun any kind of narrowness.”
He also observed that education is not for economic development rather it is education, which can lead the nation ahead.
European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) Professor Rolf-Dieter Heuer was the convocation speaker.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique were among others present at the convocation.
