CHANDPUR: Home Affairs Ministry directed authorities concerned to confiscate the properties of Colonel (retd) AM Rashed Chowdhury, a fugitive convict in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman killing case.

A letter in this regard was sent to Chandpur Superintendent of Police M Amir Zafar from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (South) Special SP Abdul Kahhar Akhand on April 3.

Sources said the letter was sent according to a decision of the government’s taskforce on fugitive convicts in Bangabandhu killing case.

After receiving the letter, Chandpur police super asked Hajiganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Shah Alam to take necessary measures in this regard on April 8.

Following the day, Hajiganj Thana police informed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) to identify Rashed’s property through a memorandum.

UNO Hosna Afroza told banglanews: “Rashed’s property will be identified marking with red flag and signboard within a few days.”
