TONGI, GAZIPUR: Police detained three fake DB police men with firearms from Millgate area of Tongi Thana in the district early Sunday.

The detainees are- Iqbal, 35, Jewel, 32 and Biplab, 32.

Sources said that violating police signal to halt, the men riding on a bike tried to flee the scene around 3:00am and at one stage they opened fire aiming police.

In reply, police also fired back, leaving Iqbal injured and later, detained the three fake police.

Meanwhile, police seized two shooter guns, two round bullets and 12 mobile phone sets.

Tongi Thana Assistant Sub-Inspector Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
