DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday said the government has taken stern legal action to prevent eve teasing.

Replying to a question from Asma Jerin, Hasina said some 83 cases and 211 general diaries were filed between January and June this year while a total of 633 stalkers were detained.

“Punitive actions were taken against 757 people,” she said.

“Police are taking actions against the stalkers wherever they get information in written or over telephone,” she added.
