DHAKA: A minor school boy was killed as lightning struck him in Diabari area of Mirpur in the capital on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as M Sagar, 11, student of class (II) and son of Ashraf Uddin.

Luky, Sister-in-law of the deceased, said that Sagar was struck by lightning while he was taking bath in a river adjacent to their home.

However, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition where on duty doctor declared him dead.

His body was kept in DMCH morgue.
