Beggars for black market ticket sale

DHAKA: Police on Wednesday held a mastermind from city’s Moghbazar area on charge of exploiting beggars for long time to sale advance train tickets on the black market.

The detainee, Shahjahan, 35, first bought the tickets from Bangladesh Railway’s website and different mobile banking services.

Later, he published advertisement in online and sent the tickets to buyers with beggars and collects money.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamalapur railway police Abdul Majid confirmed the matter to banglanews.

With a beggar’s information, police conducted a drive in the area and detained him.

The OC said he bought tickets of Tk 200-500 and sell it through online at Tk 2000-2500.

After primary interrogation, Shahjahan will be produced before the court, the OC added.
