COMILLA: Seven people, including a child, were killed and 14 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chauddagram upazila of the district Sunday morning.

Details of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Mian Bazar Highway police sergeant M Sahabuddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The sergeant said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound goods-loaded truck collided head-on with a passenger bus of Shikder Paribahan in front of Mian Bazar Highway Hotel of the upazila around 6:45am.

The crash left the truck driver, his helper and four passengers of the bus dead on the spot while another succumbed to injuries at the Upazila Health Complex.

Of the deceased, four are male and three, including a child, are female.

The injured were rushed to the local hospitals.
