BRAHMANBARIA: Rail communication of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet halted after derailment of two compartments of passenger train Upakul Express in Talshohor of the district at 11:00am on Sunday.

Brahmanbaria railway station assistant station manger Mainul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Due to the derailment, three trains---Dhaka-bound Subrana Express got stranded at the Brahmanbaria railway station while Kalni Express at Paghachang Station and Chittagong-bound Mahangar Provati at Bhairab railway station.

A rescue team is one way to the spot from Akhaura and two more hours may need to resume the train communication on the routes, said Mainul.
