NARAYANGANJ: A district court Monday sentenced six people to death for killing one Monir Hossain of Rupganj dated 7 years back.

The death row convicts are—Soleman, Ripon, Jahangir, Akter Hossain, Ohid alias Roni and Akter Mia.

Narayanganj Additional District and Sessions Judge Miazi Alam Choudhury pronounced the verdict in the morning.

Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) of the court Fazlur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Fazlur Rahman also said that all the accused were present at the court during the verdict.

Earlier on July 25 in 2008, a group of robbers went for robbery at Monir’s house. At one stage they killed Monir Hossain as he could identify the robbers.

Later, his wife Hasina Begum filed a case with Rupganj Thana on the following day.
