DHAKA: Government Sunday formed a one-member probe committee to investigate the alleged links of some officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines with gold smuggling.
The body comprised of Civil aviation and tourism ministry secretary Abu Hena Mohammad Rahmatul Munim will submit its report within 30 working days.
Civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon told banglanews that a circular will be issued on Sunday in this regard.
A ministry source said the committee will also look into the Biman’s revenue management system and programs to stop passengers’ harassment.
It will also investigate the justification of contractual recruitment and also limits on promotion to high level management positions in the national career.
