DHAKA: City covered under blanket of thick fog. Mild cold wave is sweeping across the capital from Thursday midnight, affecting normal life and causing miseries to the common people.
In the wake of poor visibility due to foggy weather, road traffic remained adversely affected, sources concerned said.
Dense fogs, mists in the air are forcing the sun to remain invisible. Biting cold coupled with cooler winds made life miserable.
Weather will remain dry over the area. Light to moderate to thick fog may occur over the area, said meteorologist Bajlur Rashid.
Moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins and light to moderate fog elsewhere over the country during midnight till morning, said Bangladesh Met office.
Mild cold wave is also sweeping over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Jessore, Kushtia and Srimangal and it may continue, the met office added.
Night temperature fall slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The lowest temperature of 13.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Dhaka and adjoining area.
