KISHOREGANJ: Over 100 people fell sick by taking “poisonous food” at a wedding feast at Nikli upazila in the district.

Twenty six of them have been admitted to Nikli Upazila Health Complex.

Villagers said that over three hundred guests attended a wedding ceremony at Purbagram village of the upazila on Friday afternoon.

Scores of people started suffering from fever, stomachache and vomiting from Saturday morning.

Over one hundred people were brought to the Upazila Health Complex till 5:00pm on Saturday.

Twenty six of them, including Billal Mia, Nurjahan, Mim Akhtar, Purabi Begum, Hasan Member, Aklima and Roushan Akhtar, were admitted to the health complex.

Nikli Upazila Health and Family Planning officer Dr Mohammad Abdul Majid told banglanews that the people were victims of food poisoning.
