NARAYANGANJ: Two people died and five others fell sick after taking excessive alcohol in Nanakhi Pashchimpara area under Sonargaon upazila of the district on Monday night.
The deceased were identified as Khokon, 40, son of Kashem Ali and Anwar, 40, son of Abul Hashem, residents of the area.
Sources said that a group of people were used to taking alcohol for so long in a garage of the area.
Seven persons became sick after drinking too much liquor on Monday night in the garage.
However, Khokon and Anwar expired on the way to hospital while five others were admitted in several hospitals in critical condition.
Sadipur Union Parishad (UP) chairman Abdur Rashid Mollah confirmed the matter to banglanews.
