COMILLA: At least 30 shops were gutted as a fire broke out in Chandina Sadar Bazaar area under Chandina upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

Locals said that the fire broke out at Bamun Chowdhury market around 9:30pm and soon engulfed to some 30 adjoining business establishments.

The origination of the fire could not be known immediately.

On information, three units of fire fighters from Chandina, Daudkandi and Comilla rushed the spot to douse the blaze.

The extent of losses caused by the fire could not be estimated immediately.

Chandina Station Master Yeasin Pradhania confirmed the matter to banglanews.
