KHULNA: The transport strike in Khulna division is underway for the forth day to press home 3-point demands.

Transport owners-workers association called the strike demanding the release of detained driver and helper of Sohag Paribahan, to file case on transport robbery and suspension of the OC who hampered denying filing case.

The strike began from Tuesday in Dhaka-bound highway and the vehicle plying in inter-route in the country’s south-western region halted from Friday.

Hundreds of passengers in dire sufferings as commuters remained stranded for four days.

Khulna Bus Minibus Coach Owner Association general secretary Anwar Hossain Sona told banglanews that they met the administration and transport leaders Friday night to solve the problem, but there came no solution.

The association also threatened for countrywide transport strike if their demands are not fulfilled till May 25, he added.
