GAZIPUR: At least five people, including three women, were killed and several others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Tangail highway at Signboard area under Kaliakair Upazila of the district Tuesday morning.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Mirzapur Gorai Highway Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He further said head-on collision between a passenger bus and a human hauler in the area around 8:45am left five people dead on the spot.

The injured were taken to local hospitals, he added.
