DHAKA: Detective Branch (DB) of police and narcotic control department personnel arrested two drug peddlers with 40,000 pieces of yaba tablets from city’s Jatrabari area.

The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Zahurul Islam and Mohammad Maidul Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) mass communication department deputy-commissioner Muntasirul Islam informed the media on Wednesday.

He said that on a tip-off, they conducted a drive in city’s Jartabari area on Tuesday night and detained two drug peddlers with 40,000 pieces of yaba tablets.

‘The law enforcers had also seized a truck during the drive,’ he added.

According to him, legal action has been taken against the arrestees.
