BOGRA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday asked the armed forces to work in such a manner that helps country become proud.

She made the assertion while addressing a program organized at Bogra Cantonment to handover National Standards (flags) to 12 lancers in the morning.

Earlier, the premier reached Bogra around 10:15am. This is her first visit to the district after being elected as prime minister in 2009 and 2014.

Sheikh Hasina will also address a rally organized by district unit of ruling Awami League (AL) at Altafunnesa playground around 2:30pm.

Later, she will leave for the capital around 4:15pm.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the area.
