DHAKA: No income tax has to be given in renewing the registration numbers and fitness certificates of motor-vehicles for government departments, divisions or under government regulated projects.

Recently, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) issued a gazette notification, signed by second secretary (tax law-1) Jasimuddin Ahmed, in this regard with the view to clear the field-level officers of NBR.

Earlier on May 17 this year, NBR issued a notification, signed by its chairman Nozibur Rahman, with directives about paying taxes in renewing motor-vehicles’ registration numbers and fitness certificates.
