FROM ALTAFUNNESA PLAYGROUND, BOGRA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commented that though her ruling party could secure only one or two parliamentary seats in Bogra district, they did not ignore the development in the area.
‘We have introduced many modern facilities here,’ she added.
The PM made this assertion while addressing a mass rally, organized by district unit Awami League (AL) at Alfatunnesa Playground in Bogra Thursday evening.
‘We took several development programs after assuming power in 1996 after 21 years. The previous ruling powers conducted the politics of killing people. They did not look after the destitute freedom fighters.’
According to the PM, former president Ziaur Rahman came to power by organizing a coup and killed several thousands of soldiers to keep his chair undisturbed.
She further said that after assuming power in 2001, BNP stopped the activities of a science and technology university in Bogra. Rather, the BNP and its alliance killed many AL leaders in the district as if this area as their own property.
PM Hasina also mentioned the development programs taken by her government for Bogra district.
