BENAPOLE (JESSORE): Law enforcers are ready to receive gruesome Narayanganj seven-murder case key accused Nur Hossain Thursday night.
Members Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police are staying at Benapole check-post to receive the accused from the India authorities.
Narayanganj police super (SP) Dr Khandakar Mahiuddin told banglanews that the law enforcers were asked to take necessary preparation to receive Nur Hossain as the India government had agreed to extradite the accused, who was arrested in India.
Earlier at night, home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told the media after attending the ongoing Parliament session that the report circulated regarding the extradition of Nur Hossain is true.
On April 27, 2014, seven people, including Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar, were abducted allegedly by Rapid Action Battalion personnel from Dhaka-Narayanganj link road.
Their bodies were found afloat in river Sitalakhya a couple of days later.
The families of the victims accused Nur Hossain and five others for the killings with the assistance of RAB-11.
On June 14, 2014, the Indian National Investigation Unit jointly with Anti-Terrorism Squad had arrested Nur Hossain, along with two other Bangladeshis in Barasat of West Bengal province.
On April 8 this year, police submitted the charge-sheet of the Narayanganj seven-murder case against 35, naming Nur Hossain as the prime accused.
