DHAKA: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday expressed her shock and sorrows over the death of 43 people in twin terrorist bomb attacks in Beirut in the evening of November 12.
In a condolence letter to Lebanon Prime Minister Tammam Salam, Sheikh Hasina said, “I am deeply shocked to know that 43 Lebanese people were killed and more than 240 were injured in twin terrorist bomb attacks in Beirut.”
“I express my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to you and through you to the bereaved family members of the victims as well as all the Lebanese brethren for this tragic incident,” the letter added.
She also strongly condemned the terrorist attacks terming it as “barbaric and cowardly”.
Hasina also expressed her solidarity to Lebanon premier’s fight against terrorism stating that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and her government’s “zero tolerance” policy to it.
She also wished eternal peace for the departed souls and early recovery of the injured ones.
Meanwhile, the foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali, MP, also expressed sorrows to his Lebanon counterpart Gabran Bassil.
Terming the attack as “cowardly and heinous” he also prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and early recovery of the wounded brothers.
