FARIDPUR: Four people, on suspicion of robbers, were beaten to death by angry mob at two villages in Sadar Upazila of the district early hours of Saturday. 

Char Madhabdia union parisad (UP) chairman Tuhinur Rahman Mandol told banglanews that sensing the presence of a gang of robbers around 2:00am, villagers chased them. At one stage, hearing their scream, people from near by village cordoned the robbers.

Later, angry villagers beat two suspected robbers to death at Char Durgapur village and Chowdhurydangi area of the union around 3:00am.

Faridpur additional police super Kamruzzaman told banglanews that  on information police rushed to the spot. Process is underway to bring the bodies to thana compound. 

During the time, a 9 mm pistol has been recovered from the spot, he added.

Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
