DHAKA: United States ambassador to Dhaka Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat met state minister for posts and telecommunications Tarana Halim in Dhaka on November 19.

Bernicat conveyed to the state minister the United States’ continued support for her efforts to develop the telecommunications sector and her appreciation for the steps Bangladesh government has taken to improve the overall security of foreigners.

In addition, the envoy underscored that a strong US-Bangladesh relationship benefits the US and the American people, Bangladesh and the Bangladeshis, and promotes regional and global security.

“The minister and I reviewed how Bangladesh’s telecommunications sector provides further opportunities for US investment and partnership,” she said.

“The US will continue to walk side by side with Bangladesh on its path to a better future, a future of impressive economic growth in an environment of stability.”
