The deceased were identified as a contractor and businessman Nasimul Gani Shah, 47, hailed from Badarganj of Rangpur district and his brother-in-law Altaf Hossain, 55, hailed from Nilphamari.

Deceased’s family sources said Nasimul Gani Shah was going to Shiliguri for medical treatment of Altaf Hossain and for other business purposes.

However, a tank lorry collided head-on with the private car carrying the duo at Shiliguri intersection around 10:00pm, leaving them dead on the spot.
