DHAKA: At least 18 people were killed and 25 injured in several road accidents in Dhaka, Rajbari, Sirajganj, Bandarban, Savar, Comilla and Tangail districts on Thursday.
In Bandarban, seven people were killed more 14 people injured as a truck plunged into a ditch in Youngcha area under Lama upazila around 6:30am.
A freedom fighter among two was killed in a bus-truck collision on Dhaka-Tangail Bangabandhu Bridge Highway in Saratoil area of Bhuiyapur upazil in Tangail in the morning.
Moreover, a truck ran over a NGO worker on Bogra-Nagarbari highway in Salanga Saheb Bazar area in Sirajganj around 9:00am.
Around 10:00am, a man and a woman were killed as the driver of a human hauler lost his control over steering and fell into a roadside ditch in Dawlatdia Union Board area under Goalanda upazila in Rajbari.
In Dhaka city, a 17-year old boy was killed as a bus hit him on Hanif Flyover and another person were injured in the same incident.
Two CNG-run auto-rickshaw passengers were killed by a bus on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Chandina upazila’s Katherpur area in Comilla.
The police officials of the respective police stations confirmed the matter to media.
