‘Trial of 195 war crimes suspects of Pakistan soon’

ASHULIA, DHAKA: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said government would soon take initiatives for the trial of war criminals residing in Pakistan through foreign ministry.

He came up with assertion while talking to reporters at concluding program of training camp of 300 members of Industrial Police-1 in Ashulia on the outskirts of Dhaka city Thursday (December 17).

As chief guest, the minister said, ‘Under Simla Agreement signed after Bangladesh liberation war, the trial process of 195 war criminals staying in Pakistan will begin soon through the foreign affairs ministry’.

The incumbent government does not spare any kind of crime, the home boss added.

Regarding the formation of industrial police, the minister said that this section of police will be strengthened more.

Dhaka-19 lawmaker Dr Enamur Rahman, CID chief Hemayet Uddin, Dhaka Range DIG Nuruzzaman, Industrial Police-1 director Mostafijur Rahman and senior officers of police, among others, were present at the event.

Earlier in the day, the minister took salute at concluding parade of month-long training of 300 new members of Industrial Police and witnessed amazing karate display.
