Lightning kills 4 in Jessore

BENAPOLE, JESSORE: At least four people were killed and four others injured as lightning struck them at Pachua Baor under Benapole Port Thana on Sunday noon.

The deceased were identified as Imran, 14, son of Jubayer, Tuhin, 17, son of Billal, Saddam, 21, son of Vutto from Raghunathpur village and Motiar Rahaman son of Mofijul Islam from Sarbarhura Village.   

The critically injured head of fishermen Shanti and Adhor were rushed to Upazila Health Complex.    

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Kazim Uddin, the leaseholder of the Baorm said lightning struck them while a group of fishermen were catching fish amid torrential rain, leaving three dead on the spot and another succumbed to injuries at hospital.

Port Thana Sub-Inspector Abdul Aziz told banglanews that police confirmed the matter to banglanews.
