NARAYANGANJ: Department of Environment (DoE) on Monday fined Tk 43.5 lakh to five factories for polluting environment using malformed Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).

A team led by DoE director (Monitoring and Enforcement) M Alamgir passed the order after hearing in presence of factory authorities responsible.

As per the order, the DoE fined Fakir Apparels Tk 5 Lakh, Obonti Color Textile Tk 15 Lakh, M S Dying Tk 18 Lakh, Martin Knitwear Limited Tk 2 Lakh and Rib Line Fashion’s Limited Tk 50 thousand.
