KALIAKOIR: A college student drowned in a marsh in Kaliakoir upazila of the district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam, 17, son of Bidya Bepari of Chatoilviti area and first year student of Alhajj Abdul Mannan College of Ashulia.

Sources said Aminul went to local Kania Marsh with his friend to take bath. At one stage he tried to save his friend from drowning, but he drowned.
