MANIKGANJ: Two farmers were killed in two separate incidents as lightning struck them at Begunnarchi and Sridhornagar village of Poila union under Ghior upazila of the district.

The deceased were identified as Thandu Mondal, 55, son of Jabed Mondal of Begunnarchi and Bheja Sardar, 65, son of Foijdar Sardar of Sridhornagar village.

Sources said Tandu and Bheja were killed as lightning struck them while they were working at field of respective areas around 2:00pm on Monday.

Ghior Thana ASI Jasim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
